Therefore, we do not allow our products to be printed and sold by others.
At Race3D, every product is more than just an STL file. It represents our brand, our responsibility, and our level of quality. That's why we don't allow our products to be printed and sold by third parties – even if it can sometimes be perceived as "hobby printing."
We are a brand – not a hobby business
Race3D is a registered company with a clear focus on durable, functional and tested products. Our parts are often used in demanding environments: automotive, motorsport, interiors and technical applications where material selection, manufacturing and post-processing are crucial.
When someone downloads a file and prints it at home, without our process, our control and our materials, it is no longer a Race3D product – but it can still be perceived as one.
This is where the problem arises.
Quality is not just about form
Two parts can look identical – but function completely differently.
We choose:
-Materials that we know will last over time
-Right filament type, batches and suppliers
-Controlled print settings
-Finishing and assembly that ensures function
-A hobby printed part can be made of:
-Wrong material
-Wrong temperature
-Wrong orientation
-Without any form of strength control
When that part breaks, deforms, or doesn't work as intended, it's our name that risks being associated with the problem.
When low quality damages our brand
We have seen examples where products that can be clearly linked to Race3D are resold – but without maintaining the quality we stand behind. For the end customer, it is often impossible to determine whether the part is manufactured by us or not.
The result?
-The customer loses trust
-Our brand is being eroded
-A serious company is compared to hobby production
This is not acceptable – neither for us nor for our customers.
Responsibility towards customers and users
When we sell a product, we take responsibility.
For material selection. For function. For safety.
A private individual who prints and resells:
-Provides no guarantee
-Has no traceability
-Takes no responsibility for errors or damage
-It is a risk we cannot allow to be associated with Race3D.
Our position is simple
Our files are not for commercial production.
Our products should only be sold when we can stand behind the quality
Our brand should not be diluted by uncontrolled production
This is not about being “difficult” – it’s about protecting:
-Our customers
-Our quality
-Our name
And ultimately: trust in additive manufacturing as serious production.
